Following a global search, the Conference Fund Manager Selection Committee is pleased to announce the Conference Fund Managers for 2025, a group of world-class investors sharing their highest-conviction investment ideas in support of groundbreaking medical research. HM1 invests 35% of its portfolio in the investment ideas presented by the fund managers at the annual Sohn Hearts & Minds Conference, holding these picks for the following twelve months.

MOHAMMED ANJARWALA
Co-Founder & Managing Director
Advent Global Opportunities (USA)

Mohammed Anjarwala is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Advent Global Opportunities, the public equity arm of Advent International. Mohammed has been investing across public and private markets for Advent for more than 15 years. He began his Advent career as a member of the private equity team. In 2015, he co-founded Advent Global Opportunities and has been leading that team since. Prior to Advent, Mohammed was an investor at SFW Capital and Bain Capital. He started his career at Bain & Company as a management consultant.

Mohammed has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College, where he now serves as a Trustee.

BEN HENSMAN
Portfolio Manager 
Square Peg (AUS)

Ben is the Portfolio Manager of Square Peg’s listed equities strategy, the Global Tech Fund.

Ben joined Square Peg in 2016 and has significant experience and passion for investing in tech across all stages. Ben spent the early years of his career at Fidelity International as an Investment Analyst researching listed tech, media and telco businesses. Ben spent five years in Square Peg’s venture capital team working closely with early-stage founders before launching the Global Tech Fund in 2021.

Outside of Square Peg, Ben is passionate about youth mental health. He is a Non-Executive Director of Smiling Mind, a not-for-profit focused on kids in schools and in the home. Ben holds a dual-degree of Bachelor of Commerce (BCom. Fin.) and Bachelor of Laws (LLB).

QIAO MA
Partner & Portfolio Manager 
Munro Partners (AUS)

Qiao Ma joined Munro Partners in February 2023 and is the Lead Portfolio Manager for the Munro Global Growth Small & Mid Cap Fund. She is responsible for championing stock ideas and managing these positions within each of the Munro’s strategies – absolute return, long only and climate.

Prior to joining Munro, Qiao was a portfolio manager at the Melbourne-based Cooper Investors and has spent nearly a decade with well-known hedge funds in New York City, including Coatue Management and Jericho Capital.

Emerson Moore founded Ampfield Management in 2016 and serves as its Portfolio Manager.  He represents Ampfield Management on the Election Committee of Momentum Group.  Previously, Emerson worked at Apax Partners, a global private equity firm, where he focused on the business services sector.  Emerson began his career in investment banking at Citi.  Emerson is a graduate of Princeton University.

Outside of work, Emerson is an avid racquet sportsman, skier, and student of history, and is working on his surfing and kitesurfing.

ROBERT MULLIN

Robert Mullin is the Founder & Chief Investment Officer of Marathon Resource Advisors and has been investing in the energy and natural resource sector since 1994. Over the last three plus decades, he has been a portfolio manager at the Franklin/Templeton Group, The Cypress Funds and Tocqueville Asset Management, as well as running his own firms focused on the sector. 

Mr. Mullin received his B.A. in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1991. He was born and raised in Northern California, lives in San Francisco with his wife and three children and enjoys cooking, keeping up with his relentlessly athletic kids and attending the French Open whenever possible.

In 2022, Mr. Mulin established the Marathon Statera Project, which allocates a portion of fund management and performance fees to causes focused on global conservation and food security, as well as supporting Bay Area female immigrant food businesses and local youth development.

Vihari Ross is a portfolio manager at Antipodes Partners, working across global equities strategies for the A$21 billion firm. She has more than 20 years’ experience in global markets. Before joining Antipodes, she spent over 15 years at Magellan Financial Group, where she was Head of Research and led a 30-person global research team. During her time there, she designed and managed the Magellan Core Global strategy. Earlier at Magellan, she covered financials and consumer sectors and served as Sector Head of Franchises (Consumer).

Vihari began her career at Commonwealth Investment Management in strategy and research, later joining Ausbil Dexia from 2003 to 2007 as an analyst covering financials and consumer sectors, with additional responsibility for quantitative analysis. Peter is a Senior Portfolio Manager and Co-Founder of Life Cycle Investment Partners. He has been co-managing Global Equity portfolios successfully for over 20 years and leading the current Life Cycle Global Equity team for over a decade.

Prior to LCIP, Peter was Head of Equities at Royal London Asset Management, and other notable experience includes being; Partner at Ironbridge Capital Management, Director at Waverton Investment Management, and Analyst at Deutsche Asset Management.

Peter is a CFA Charterholder, has a CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing, a Chartered Management Accountant ACMA, and a first-class with distinction degree in Geography (MA) from the University of Cambridge.

Eric Wong is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Stillpoint Investments, with over twenty years of experience in China’s capital markets. He previously spent more than a decade at Blue Ridge Capital, the hedge fund founded by John Griffin, where he served as Managing Director and led Asia research from Beijing and New York. In addition to overseeing public equity investments, he also led the divestment of the firm’s private equity holdings in China.

Eric began his career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley China. He is a member of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations and an Asia Society Asia 21 Fellow, and serves on the boards of the American Mandarin Society and Global Women Asia. He holds a BA from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
